Norfolk Christians urged to stand up for their faith
Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney (NWCT) are inviting Christians throughout the county to ‘ Be Seen’ by disp laying a simple poster in their front window during Lent. NWCT ecumenical officer Rev Andrew Platt said: "We have produced a simple poster, which we invite people to put in a front window or on the gate, anywhere it can be seen, during the period of Lent, to say that Christians live in this house.
"The aim is simple. It is to let others know that we follow Christ, whatever our denomination may be, no matter where we may worship. This could lead to meeting up with Christians of other denominations but who happen to live in the same village or road that we do."
The poster is A4 size and consists of two parts. Fold the bottom under during Lent so the message ‘Christ has died for us’ shows, then on Easter day fold out the bottom to declare ’Christ is risen’.
Each of the main denominations will have copies for distribution. It can also be down loaded from the Churches Together web site www.nwct.org.uk .as a PDF file. Hard copies can also be obtained from Revd Andrew Platt 01502 717744 or e-mail Andrew.andrewplatt.wanadoo.co.uk.
Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 6th 2008 and Easter Day is 23rd of March 2008
