Don't give up the good work

Therefore my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labour is not in vain.” – I Corinthians 15:58

Kee4740840931641340fd3mp going on with the work of the Lord. We need to be reliable in our Christian work . If we agree to do a voluntary job in our church, or a job for God in the community then we need to keep going with our commitment and persevere with it. As Paul told the Corinthians, we should be steadfast and immovable in our work, and not think that it does not matter if we are slipshod, or badly prepared, or half-hearted in our work.
It has to be said that the work of many churches is blighted because we allow some people to continue doing a job that they are unsuited for simply because nobody else will do it or because we are afraid of hurting their feelings.

It is good practice to review the work we do in Gods name at times, and check that we are doing what He wants. Our work does not even have to have a fancy title – one Christian man made it his job to stand at the doors of his church before each service and simply smile at everyone as they went in. What a difference he made, and what a blessing he was! Ask yourself, are you doing too much or too little? Are you using your talents to the full? Are you reliable enough to do the job that you say you will? If you work faithfully, your labour will not be in vain.
