YF27100835Breathtaking live shows and awesome rock music is promised for thousands of young people in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire when top Christian band YFriday tour at the end of May. The final night of the tour will be played right here in Great Yarmouth at Kings Church, Queen Anne's Road, Southtown

Unite is partnering with other Youth For Christ centres and churches who have come together as part of a national initiative called Hope 08, to put this tour together. Matt Gooch director of the East Norfolk Unite Youth Project explains “our aim is to provide one of the biggest, brightest and challenging gig nights to be seen in Norfolk for many a year. It is often said that we don't get big acts or groups coming to Norfolk. We are certainly putting a stop to that with one of the biggest Christian rock bands in the country playing three different venues right in the heart of Norfolk.”

Mark Tuma – Director of Norwich Youth For Christ explains that “Getting the band here shows what you can do when you work together. It's been great to work as a team with the other groups in the region making this tour happen, something we could never have done on our own

Yfriday play regularly to big crowds. They’ve performed in front of thousands of people in countries throughout the world. Their latest album, Universal is described as their “best ever” and “simply the best” in several reviews. With the lyrics challenging young people to make a difference in the world, this band does seem to be something different.

Both Matt and Mark explain "we are really looking forward to a great night musically, as they are a very well-regarded band, as well as being a great bunch of guys. On top of that it's so refreshing to come across a group of 'rock stars' who have such a positive and contributing attitude to life."
