Sometimes we fail to rise above our troubles or responsibilities with wings like eagles because we eith
er forget or have never learned how great the power of God is to help us. Isaiah almost taunts the Israelites by his questioning – Have you not known?
Have you not heard? – and the same could be asked of us. If we know that God is all loving and all powerful, why do we doubt His ability to help us with our heavy responsibilities or in times of trouble? Why do we forget so quickly and so readily the many times God has helped us in the past, and forget the amazing truth that He is our everlasting creator who loves and cares for us?
Although we know about the power of God, because of our sinful natures, we do not find it easy to allow that power into our lives. We prefer to try doing things in our own strength, but if we know and believe that God can freely give us His power and strength, then it should effect the way we live.
So remember the ways God has helped you in the past and remind yourself daily of His power and strength, as well as His great understanding of your weaknesses. It is all there for you to accept and by your acceptance you will learn to rest in Him and soar up with w
ings like eagles.
Heavenly Father, I thank and praise you for your power, your love and the way you understand me and my needs, especially _____________. Thank you for giving me this knowledge, and help me to always remember it. Amen.
