Pray in the Spirit - 48 hours of prayer

We are encouraged in the letter to the Ephesians to ‘pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests’With that in mind, we at Newtown Methodist Church are engaging in 48 hours of prayer from 11.30am on Friday 25th May and concluding with our regular morning service on Sunday 25th May

This is an important time in the life of the world, the life of the Church and the life of our new Circuit, still in its first year and so we would like to invite you to take part in the 48 hours

What we would like people to do is to sign up for a two hour slot and to come to Newtown and offer prayers. Recognising that two hours is a long time, there will be plenty for you to do: images to reflect on, music to listen to, thing to taste, touch, smell, read, write, and so on. Don’t forget, silence is as much a part of prayer as the words we use – God needs opportunity to speak to us too!

Safety is a priority. Sp we suggest that there are at least two people in the Church at any given time, so find a friend and come along! Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be in plentiful supply, which will be important for those who feel they are able to pray during the small hours!

Do encourage your church to become involved in this venture. Others who have set aside time in this way have discovered that God has spoken to them in new and clear ways and so we believe this to be an important offering to the life of our Circuit
