On the website this week are stories bringing mixed emotions from countries where BMS has a strong heritage.

A delegation of British Baptists have returned from a visit to Jamaica - where BMS workers first set foot almost 200 years ago - to present an apology for the transatlantic slave trade. However, as you'll read by clicking the link below, the shooting of a Jamaican pastor marred the trip. Please remember Rev Dr George Simpson and his family in your prayers at this time.
Meanwhile, in India, where BMS has worked since its foundation, an exciting new future lies ahead in Kolkata after the opening of a new mission centre last weekend. It promises to resource and empower local ministries to reach out with the love of Christ.
Shooting mars slavery apologyBMS World Mission's general director Alistair Brown has expressed his shock and sadness at the shooting of a Jamaican Baptist pastor, which happened whilst he and other UK Baptist leaders were in the country.
