Desks for church and community
 Quite a long time ago a company linked to Good Work (Norfolk & Waveney Industrial Mission) made several "good as new" workstations available to Good Work who in turn wanted to make them available to others.
However it proved difficult to get them out of storage and handling was also a problem.
Now the problems have been solved by calling on the help of a Great Yarmouth based Furniture Recycling Project with which Good Work has had close links. Furnishaid works with unemployed and unwaged people as well as making recycled furniture available to people on low or no income.
Furnishaid has agreed to handle the desks (and office chairs) and are making them available at £45 (desks) and £5 (chairs) + a reasonable delivery charge, on a first come, first served basis. Rev Chris Warner said: "This creates a double positive because it allows Furnishaid to raise money for their charitable work whilst also making "good as new" desks and chairs available for church and community groups. There were a number of interested groups at the time I first advertised the opportunity and I am sorry that it has taken so long to sort the matter out. I suggest any group that is still interested contact Furnishaid direct".
The workstations are mainly a washed oak finish and are wave desks designed for someone using a computer as well as other work. They are standard height, 123cm long and the wave front makes them 75cm deep at one end and 95cm deep at the other.
This is a wonderful opportunity for churches or community groups trying to make a difference in their local neighbourhood and who need to set up an office base for volunteers or workers. Alternatively they may assist groups who are wanting to upgrade their office furniture.
