Youthnet restarts at the Kings Centre

After a brief summer break Youthnet is preparing to restart on Friday evenings at the Kings Centre, Great Yarmouth. After an amazing 2007/8, we on the Youthnet leadership team, are looking forward with great expectation of how God is going to lead us over the coming year

Youthnet is the umbrella term for a network of youth events and meetings based at Kings church, including events that are linked with other local organisations, and youth teams. The main weekly sessions are on Friday evenings and are open to all youth from 12-18 years old

Friday evenings are relaxed and vary in structure throughout the month. Regular activities include sports, music and dance, with plenty of space to simply hangout. The meeting structure is likely to change over the next term so keep an eye on the new Kings Church website for further information

Over the last year we have had great opportunities to impact the Borough as an expression of our vision. This has presented itself in various forms, most recently with Hope ‘O8 at Easter and in July with The Valued Generation Catwalk. We envisage some change in emphasis over the next year to work even more closely with the youth to further develop a generation of integrity, of individuals who are confident in who they are. Whist youth activities are open to Christians and non-Christians alike we have sensed God wanting us to focus more attention to relationship with Him. We hope and pray that the result of doing this will lead to more effective pastoral care for all the young people under the Youthnet banner

As a team, we think it is really important to work closely with other local organisations and churches and not to be an isolated unit. We maintain close links with Unite (www.unitenorfolk.co.uk), Elevate (www.lowestoftcommunitychurch.co.uk) and Yarmouth Rock, as well as the police safer neighbourhood teams, this mean we can all hope to continue to improve how we reach and serve our community

Fantastic news for the East of England

We are also pleased to announce that the New Frontiers youth event ‘newday’ will be held at the Norfolk showground over the next three years.

This gives the young people of the area a wonderful opportunity to see an event of this size and quality with less than an hour’s drive.

More information will be posted via our website and the Network Yarmouth website

Youthnet meets every Friday (except 1 each month) from 7.30-10pm. The term starts on Friday 5th September. To check out the diary or for more information on upcoming youth activities and developments please go to www.kings-church.net
