"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?  Luke 14:28

Terry Ascot SAT-7Planning is an important part of life. Christ says that we should "count the cost" before building. Here at SAT-7 we have been building and broadcasting programmes for more than 12 years. Each programme goes through a review and approval process before work begins on it. If approved, then a pilot (a TV sample) programme is usually created. Often the pilots are good enough for broadcast, but at times they are rejected and the producers have to go back and tweak the show (perhaps hiring different writers or actors) before it can ever go on air.

We have a number of daily programmes that have been running for several years. It is an exhausting challenge to create quality, creative programmes every day. Each season these shows need to be upgraded and enhanced, often with new sets or hosts, and fresh topics need to be determined.

Last month Rita El Mounayer, Director of Programming for SAT-7 ARABIC and SAT-7 KIDS, ordered a pause in the production of programmes that have been running for more than a year and requested that the producers evaluate what they had been doing and present new plans for the future. Many producers were excited about this opportunity to spend time examining their shows and planning for the future.

The SAT-7 leadership team also pauses annually to evaluate our strategic plans. We are doing that again this month.

While we, the SAT-7 leaders and our key producers, review past progress and plan for the future, I would ask that you pray for us. Pray that the Holy Sprit will give us wisdom in how to "build" our three channels, SAT-7 ARABIC, KIDS and PARS, in such a way that we impact even more viewers with the Gospel of Christ and provide even greater services to the Christians and Churches of the Middle East and North Africa.

Together with you in building The Kingdom,
-Terry

SAT-7-KIDS-WEBAn uninhibited thirst for knowledge is the single most common characteristic of children across all nations and generations. "Why is That?" is a programme dedicated to answering all kinds of questions we receive from our young viewers, mainly between the age of 7 and 14. The programme is hosted by Essam Nagy from Egypt, as the amicable character of "Abul 'Urreef" - loosely translated into 'Mr Know' - who is widely known and loved from the popular children's show, "As-Sanabel."

SAT-7-PARS-WEBThe writer of this new series for PARS says, "The Challenge was made to improve and develop the faith of believers and young people who have recently come to have faith in Christ. Because new believers will face many unique challenges and difficulties as they begin their spiritual journeys." The series revolves around an ensemble cast of young people facing various struggles.

SAT-7-ARABIC-WebThe value and appeal of live productions is undisputed. That is why our SAT-7 Lebanon Office regularly rented satellite uplink services in the past, in order to be able to include one live programme in its schedule per week. Now we are happy to announce that those challenging days are nearly over! The arrival of a brand new, vehicle mounted Satellite News Gathering (SNG) dish will vastly enhance the number and quality of live programmes produced in the country.
