Events on money, Soul Survivor and Quakers

Events of interest to the Norwich and Norfolk Christian community include a course on managing money God’s way, Soul Survivor on tour, an African dance and drama group and an introduction to the Quakers.

Managing Money God’s Way is the subject of a half-day course to help people think about how our own attitudes towards money are shaped and to provide a biblical perspective on managing money on Saturday October 25 in Norwich.

The course will: provide a biblical framework to think about money using the story of the Exodus journey of Israel from captivity in Egypt to freedom in the promised land; help us reflect on the captivity of debt, money anxiety and materialism; teach that all we have is a gift of God and the importance of planned giving; and provide a biblical framework for understanding the importance of budgeting

The course takes place at The Meeting Place, Holy Trinity Church, Trinity Street, Norwich NR2 2BJ, from 9.30am—1pm. The cost is £20 including a light lunch.

Quaker Quest continues every Monday in October and November at the Friends Meeting House from 7pm-9pm, under the title "Thou shalt... think for yourself"

The first evening was on Quakers and worship and will be recreated on the first Monday in November.  The second evening is on Quaker social action; the third on commitment to Equality; and the fourth is on Quakers on God.  This cycle of four topics is repeated in November.

Three local Quakers will share their experiences on these subjects.  As they will speak from their experience: each evening stands alone, and interested persons are welcome to drop in as and when they can manage.  There are opportunities to ask questions, share ideas in small groups and experience Quaker worship.
