Fun auction raises £713 for charity

The Church Hall at Crieff Seventh-day Adventist church became a cross between Covent G562arden and Christies Auctioneering Room, Saturday night 25 October.

A wide range of items from teddy bears to tomatoes were sold to the highest bidders in an attempt to raise money for humanitarian projects in India, Lesotho and Romania.

Fruit, vegetables, flowers and other produce which had been donated for the church's annual Harvest Festival service combined with paintings, books, games, furniture and numerous other items which were attractively displayed before being put under the hammer of Martin Bell and Steve Logan. They rose to a new challenge by commendably emulating their peers on "Flog It"!

Eight-year-old Rhys Davies who was delighted to purchase a beautiful furry white Labrador dog for just £1.00, whilst his mother Christine gained £10 worth of firewood! The end result: £713 of assistance for persons living in needy areas of the world.
