Feast of worship music at Norwich Cathedral

 

FindingAVoiceLogoA rich feast of music from a huge variety of styles will be part of Finding a Voice – a music day for all who want to find fresh ways for music to flourish in church worship at Norwich’s Anglican Cathedral on Saturday 25 April.
 
Following his concert at The King’s Centre, Norwich the day before, well-known worship leader, Graham Kendrick will join a great line up of singers and musicians from around the country who will lead a variety of workshops.
 
Ambient Wonder will help explore alternative forms of worship; Stephen Dean will bring music from Roman Catholic composers; Graham Kendrick will share his music and reflect on trends in the world of contemporary worship music.
 
David Lowe Master of Music at the Anglican Cathedral will help ‘find our voice’; Andrew Maries will share a feast of musical resources to enrich the repertoire of congregations and musicians; Julie McCann will bring music from the Iona Community; Sue Page will share Taize prayer; Jan Payne from the Royal School of Church Music will offer ‘fresh expressions of choir’.
 
Matthew Pitts organist at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich will offer help to organists; Scott Stroman will bring Gospel music and jazz. 
 
Finding a Voice Music Day runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 25 April at Norwich’s Anglican Cathedral. The event is suitable for young people aged 15 upwards (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult). The cost is £10 per person with concessions for booking early and groups. Booking is essential.
 
Finding a Voice is organised by the Diocese of Norwich together with Andrew Maries, Consultant for Music and Liturgy for the Diocese of Exeter and David Lowe, Master of Music at Norwich Cathedral.
