Yarmouth Christians follow the Cross
by Yvonne Hill
Silent Witness
Ya rmouth Parish Clergy organised a Silent Witness which started from the St Nicholas Anglican Church in Yarmouth finishing at the market place.
On the way Christians from many denominations joined in and silently walked through the streets carrying a huge and heavy cross in memory of the death and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
By the time they reached the market place there were approximately 50 people. The cross was errected in the centre of the market square. After a period of silent prayer the group sang "Were you there when they crucified my Lord," and proceeded back to the church where hot drinks and hot cross buns were served.

'Stations of the cross' - readings by Revd Michael Woods and paintings by John Dashwood
Revd Irene Knowles led out in a meditation based on the 14 different stages of Jesus' death. At each station was a painting and a reading which was read to the congregation.
