Rafiki’s Crew back from Kenya
Locally based Rafiki’s Crew Puppeteers have just returned from a truly amazing time working in Kenya
The team of ten including six young people spent one week training a team of young Kenyans aged between eighteen and twenty four years in the art of puppetry. Then both teams performed a show lasting over one hour to 900 children from the shanty town of Kibera on the outskirts of Nairobi
The project cost £15000 which was raised by show and other events supported by the local community. The team were also able to donate a puppet staging and puppets so that the project can continue to grow in their absence
As a thank you to the local community Rafiki’s crew have organised a thank you evening on
Saturday 12th September

The evening will commence with a Kenyan style supper followed by a presentation of the project
