New Leaders to Open Great Yarmouth Shop
WHAT?
The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth, now under the leadership of Lieutenants Georgina and Rob Symons, has recently opened a bigger charity shop in a new location
The new premises will be officially celebrated with a performance from a Salvation Army band comprising players from around the borough and the cutting of the official ribbon by Major David Jackson, The Salvation Army’s new Divisional Leader across Anglia and in the presence of His Worship, the Mayor of Great Yarmouth, Councillor Tony Smith
WHEN?
Saturday 19 September 2009 from 10am
WHERE?
167 King Street, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2PA
WHY?
The Salvation Army previously had a charity shop in the area but saw the need for a move to bigger, newer premises to better serve the local community. The King Street store will be selling a range of quality used goods, including household items, books / music, clothing and toys between 9am – 4pm Mondays to Saturdays. There is limited capacity to accept donations of furniture and electrical items, which will be professionally checked before re-sale
For shopping and donation enquiries, call the shop on 01493 858 117
WHAT ELSE?
Lieut. Rob says: "The opening of this shop is really a testament to the hard work put in by the previous leader, Captain Nigel Byrne and the church members / volunteers. They did so well to move the stock out, temporarily base it in our church in Tolhouse Street until the new building was ready and then move to King Street. We are delighted to come in and be part of this official opening"
