Latest News from BMS World Missison 07/01/10

We arrive fresh into a new year and a new decade, yet for many vulnerable, marginalised and impoverished communities the same problems continue as they did last year and for many years gone by.
Take for example Burmese people displaced from their own land because of fighting and forced to live in camps on the Thai border. There are more than 140,000 of them, with many older people existing there for 25 years.
You can find out more about the plight of refugees by reading an article by BMS worker Pete Maycock, who visited a camp recently and met people like Low-Low, a teacher without a future.
Also new on the website: news on mudslides in Brazil, a feature about health education for women in Nepal and prayer from the BMS Sicily Action Team. There are also details of an exciting job opportunity at BMS' office in Oxfordshire.
Finally, be sure to check out next week's e-mail update when we launch our Team Nicaragua Appeal ahead of the forthcoming Street Child World Cup.
