Update on Chaplaincy's plight

Great news: the Diocese has stepped in and funded the immediate shortfall!!  However, this does not solve the long-term problem.  Ongoing funding sources MUST be found to sustain the Great Yarmouth College Chaplaincy.  Rev Derrick Hill made a forum posting reminding us of the presentation to an Open Forum of Borough Wide Churches Forum given by the previous Chaplaincy Coordinator, Norman Pierpoint.  During his very informative talk, Norman indicated how churches could help with funding.  Derrick has summarised this below:

"The presentation to churches about 2 years ago suggested each church might give an annual donation of:
£400 pa from large churches
£200 pa from medium churches and
£100 pa from smaller churches.
There will have been some cost inflation but donations of this order would certainly help keep the project afloat whilst other parallel funding sources were pursued"

All churches are urged to consider this plight.  WE MIST NOT LOSE THIS VALUABLE/ESSENTIAL TOOL TO REACH YOUNG PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES
