Godfrey Birtill was born in Chorley, Lancashire. His family has Moravian roots dating back to the early 1700's including Moravian hymn writer James Montgomery (Angels from the realms of glory) being one of his ancestors. Many of his songs like, 'Outrageous Grace', and 'When I look at the blood', have a prophetic edge to them and have been picked up internationally

Much of his ministry is connected to 'grass roots' city prayer gatherings across the denominations. He often writes songs on location that are connected to the city, seeking to release the cities indigenous song and lament. He's led worship and done 'Song and Intercession' workshops across the UK, South Africa, Europe and America, including song workshops on a reservation with Navajo Indians

Have enjoyed listening to Godfreys CD's for a while now - he is a man of prophecy, and always inspires me towards a deeper walk with the Lord.

Godrey was great. He brought forth a joy of the Lord from those who attended. His songs were very focused to outreach and a prophetic call to take the land. He perhaps needed a balance of a focus on the person of Jesus but he was pushing us to the edges.
I so enjoyed being with church family from all the various churches and various styles and beliefs...its was a night for happy families and already a couple of people have asked to do similar without the known worship leader fronting it. What do you think?
