Send a Smile this Christmas

This year’s shoe box appeal for Smile International will be launched on Monday 1st November with an evening of song  by the SMILE LOGOTrinity Broads Singers   and information on the work of Smile. This will be held at Park Baptist Church, 14a Crown Road, Great Yarmouth, NR30 2JN at 7.30pm. Admission is free, tea and coffee will be available.

Smile welcomes shoe boxes from local groups, schools, churches and local businesses and they will be processed at the Chatterteria cafe at 86 Middle Market Road, Great Yarmouth NR30 2DT. The cafe will be open for visitors to drop off shoeboxes and aid from 10am till 4pm from Monday 9th November until Saturday 20th November (closed on Sundays).  The boxes will then be packed into cartons and sent to Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Haiti where Smile has been active before and since the earth quake in January 2010.

There will be a chance for up to 6 pupils from local schools to be able to see what happens to the shoeboxes before they are sent to their various destinations.
