2. Minutes of the last meeting were agreed as a true record and signed by chair (Two typing error noted on P3 and one on the last page)
3. Matters Arising:
3:1 Page 8, 9.10 – MC informed the meeting that he was asked to feedback that LS unhappy about being mentioned in minutes and would hope that any issues relating to her could be made face to face.
In regards the question of representation from the Disability Forum, It is noted that LS is busy with personal matters hence non-attendance. Alan will speak to LS and clarify if she wants him to represent and feedback to the Disability Forum.
3:2 Clarifications of representatives on Forums: Roger has sent his form about sitting on Environmental and Climate Change, but has heard nothing back. A discussion arose around the Forums and there was much confusion and it was decided that a letter should be sent to Tim to clarify. TA said that she had received an email informing of who was accepted on different delivery groups and had expected that everyone would have received the same. TA said as far as she is aware Margaret and Alan are still on Environmental delivery group. Margaret was surprised by this as she said she had not made an application to sit on the group but would be happy to do so, especially as the delivery group will again be one.
ACTION - Trish to find email from Tim about Delivery Groups.
Della is now on the GY Working Partnerships for health and the GY Cohesion Steering Group.
3:3 Still awaiting confirmation from PP about potential Treasurer Role as he had stated that he was in communication with a possible candidate for this role.
3.4 MW finding it difficult to gain access to St Nicholas Church as often closed – MW to speak to PP. It was also suggested to try and have a communication with the minister for that church. RH said closure is probably due to fear of vandalism.
3.5 DA and YH are unable to take on the role of Secretary due to having too many commitments already as well as ill health. TA said Community Connections will continue to support for the time being until GYP has new members who can take on the role. RH concerned that if no-one takes on the roles that GYP could be in jeopardy.
3.6 Caister rubbish dump: appalling road and bad state. It is damaging cars and causing congestion and pollution with the cars lining up waiting. Article has been put on 96k & T.A advised these concerns are put in writing to Norfolk CC, Borough Council and Brandon Lewis as part of the function of GYP. Vice chair agreed, and also to include letter from disability group & elderly people explaining how they are unable to use the dump appalling road and bad state. T.A suggested asking the community about helping each other. L.P suggested skill swap, and suggested inviting Angela to next meeting to explain.
ACTION: Lynnette/Sarah to invite Angela to next meeting
4. Treasurer/Secretary nominations
4:1 T.A asked M.C to put on 96k for volunteers and Yvonne to put on
www.networkyarmouth.co.uk
5. Action Plan 2010 – discussion
5:1 Frequency of meetings;
Vote was taken with those present and a more frequent meeting that bi-monthly
M.W suggested it was postponed till there was more GYP
Members.
5:2 Events/Fundraising;
Marketing strategy for future events, big society, and community issues etc. L.P
will help with this. Yvonne needs help with filling out the forms for funding. T.A
suggest fundraising meeting to go through the process. We will also need the
Bank details for funding applications.
M.W suggested press officer be nominated. D.A has offered to assist with this to
market GYP in press and will meet L.P regarding this matter.
ACTION: L.P and D. A to arrange to meet ASAP before next meeting to progress
This.
5:3 other points;
D.A asked how have other groups to become a member? Vice chair said
members need to be representative of a group or organisation. D.A said GYP is
not currently as representative of community as need to be.
T.A agreed and suggested that all members should promote what GYP aiming to
achieve and to invite future members from there areas who are not as yet
involved. L.P will help with marketing. S.L suggested small articles in the
Mercury, Beach radio & all three websites (GYP, CC & 96k).
D.A & L.P will work on marketing this when they meet. Need History,
& aims. T.A will support with some information on this. Agreed that GYP was
needed as it has a real community focus and interest not accessible elsewhere so
efforts to promote is important
6. GYP Membership – Roles & Responsibilities
