Tony and his wife Helen celebrate their retirement in style

A retirement party took place on 12^th February at the Kings Church in honour of two amazing and much loved people. It seemed as though the whole of the borough came to demonstrate their love, devotion and support to Rev Tony Ward and his wife Rev Helen Ward from St Andrews in Gorleston.

 

As Tony and Helen arrived the song ‘One Moment in Time’ was playing in the background and everyone rose to their feet to greet and applaud them. Family friends and members of other denominations were there also to make the evening even more special.

 

The compere and musician soon got everyone on to their feet to dance, the elderly, the young and even the very young all took to the floor. It looked like great fun and it was good to see everyone enjoying themselves.

 

Photos of past events were displayed on screen and on display boards depicting so many happy times spent with the members and friends of the church. There was a photo of Tony doing his share of the cleaning which demonstrates that he is quite happy to mingle in and do what ever is required to keep the church in good order.

 

Tony is a vicar for the people, his warm personality is reflected in the church.  Helen his wife is a charming kind and friendly lady.  This wonderful loving husband and wife team will be greatly missed by everyone.

 

They are an inspiration to us all and I believe I can say on behalf of everyone we wish you a happy retirement and may God shower his blessings on both of you.
