Praise in the Park success

015On Sunday 15th May 2011, St George’s Park resounded to the music of a combined church choir as folk from a number of Town Churches came together for the first in a series of of five open-air evening services for the current year. The combination of traditional hymns, Bible readings, prayers, the sharing of cake together and a simple address by Rev Derrick Hill, looking at how food brings people together, gave a new meaning to Christ’s saying of the familiar words “I am the Bread of Life”
PRAISE IN THE PARK
As well as regular worshippers the event stirred interest amongst regular users of the Park and local residents, with more than 100 people being seen to participate on a lovely spring evening

This series of events have been arranged by members of nearby Park Baptist Church, with the format and themes developing through the year. The second event will take place at 7.00pm on Sunday 19th June when the speaker will be Rev Mike Wood, based in London but now undertaking an international ministry which currently sees him serving in Ukraine. All will be welcome
