Salvation Army offers gap year placements

Dear friends

Once again Bedford Congress Hall Corps is offering the opportunity for one or two young people to spend a year (or part of a year) in a Gap Year placement at the corps. Attached is our publicity poster / flyer, giving a flavour of the opportunity

The Salvation Army in Bedford provides accommodation, an allowance for living expenses, training opportunities and mentoring within a supportive Christian community; complete with challenges, opportunities to show faith in action and equipping for ongoing ministry

The precise job descriptions and training opportunities will be tailored to suit the young people. There could be, for example, an emphasis on children’s work, sports ministry or a broad experience across the corps. Training could include Engage (youth worker’s training), football referee’s course or office skills, as appropriate

As the Olympic Games fall within this coming year, we would be particularly interested in hearing from someone who is interested in and involved in sport. They could well be given the opportunity to have a major role in More Than Gold in the locality
