Another great evening of prayer for revival in Great Yarmouth

Monday 12^th September again saw a number of people from different churches in the Borough coming together at Park Baptist Church to pray for revival

 

Following an excellent time of praise and worship, Dave Weeks (City Church Great Yarmouth) reminded us that we want revival for many reasons, but our ultimate motive was to bring glory to God. We are 'working and praying togetherto make His Name famous' in our region. Dave then encouraged everyone to pray in faith expecting God to answer our prayers

 

Prayer got under way with a time of general praying for revival

 

Sometime was then spent praying for joint church ventures Healing on the Streets and Street Partners with the emphasis on churches working together. When we are all in unity, God commands a blessing. (Psalm 133)

 

Time was then given to pray for all the churches in the Borough that God will move by His Spirit and send revival to them all. We prayed that more churches would become involved in working and praying together

 

Andrew and Carol Avery were then introduced. Andrew is the new Team Vicar in the Great Yarmouth Parish. They both shared how God had brought them to Great Yarmouth, and expressed their heart and love for the town. Andrew then asked us to get into small groups, to name the streets in between St Nicholas and our own churches, and to pray for those streets and anyone we knew who lived in them. Carol expressed her concern that a lot of people in the town were visiting mediums etc. There is also an increase in the number of young people getting interested in such things. We were therefore encouraged to pray that the Church would be 'more supernatural', so that people would be attracted to us

 

At this point Dave Weeks reminded us of a 'word' that Cindy Jacobs brought to a 'Prayer for Revival' meeting in Norwich recently, namely that she believed that God was going to send revival to the region, and that it would include healings and the miraculous. To this end, it was decided that at our next Prayer for Revival evening on Monday 10th October we would change the format for the evening. We will have a good time of praise and worship, some time praying for revival and the miraculous etc, and a short 'word'. We will be offering to pray for the sick and asking God to move by His Spirit in any way He chooses. By doing this we believe we are saying to God 'we receive the 'word' You have brought to us, and we are positioning ourselves for You to work among us in whichever way You wish'

 

The evening concluded with singing the old song 'I want to see Jesus lifted high, a banner that flies across this land...'
