Report on Prayer for Revival – February 2012
Last Monday (6th February) was the latest Prayer for Revival meeting at Park Baptist. Despite bad weather there was an excellent turn out, including some new faces, which is great
Mary Ives, with supporting band, led us in a great time of praise and worship. Matt Gooch (leader at Light of Light Church in Ormesby) then led us through a time of prayer. He set up different topics for us to pray for and consider, one in each corner of the room. They were:-
1.Praying for each other in our personal encounters with others - looking for opportunities to be Jesus;
2.Sharing stories with each other about how God is moving;
3.Silence - asking God to speak and then writing it down for us all to share;
4.Simply crying out to God for him to move within the Borough
We were encouraged to spend some time at each station
This was followed by a time of sharing anything anyone believed God had been saying to them throughout that time. Jill Weeks shared that she believed God had said to her that as Christians we should be infectious. Just as viruses are contagious, so should we be. We should be spreading the love of God and sharing the Gospel that others may catch what we have. Another person then said they believed God had said the same to them! Matt then encouraged us all to pray into that 'word', so some time was then spent doing so
Matt then asked Dave Weeks to share about HOTS (Healing on the Streets) and some time was spent praying for that, and especially those on the team who were there
Dave then called anyone who needed healing to come forward for prayer, and the HOTS team then prayed for them
We finished by singing 'O God of burning, cleansing flame, send the fire!'
The next Prayer for Revival will be on Monday 12th March. This will be straight on the heels of Dave Weeks and a handful of folk attending the revival meetings and conference with Nathan Morris in Hull, so should be an exciting meeting!!
