Prayer Call goes out to Norfolk Christians

First Friday Call to Prayer
There was a meeting on 7 Nov to talk and pray about the future of FFCtP, which from 2007 is no longer going to be part of Living Water but will now ‘stand on its own feet’.
Because 2007 is the year of prayer and preparation for Hope 2008, First Friday is going to focus on that; we are also planning to meet every Friday (7 30 – 9 30pm) at different churches in Norwich. Our hope is that between eight and 12 churches will sign up to a two- or three-monthly meeting which will include a teaching slot by Jill Gower. Please contact Gail Halley on hailgail@supanet.com for more information.
Students Exploring Marriage
Pray for workshops at Notre Dame School on 5 & 12 December. At the moment it would be difficult to undertake work in other schools as they are desperately short of Christian couples who are free during the daytime. Please pray; they are very grateful to all who spend time bringing this work to the Lord in prayer.
Fresh Expressions
- For the Mission-Shaped Ministry course, prayer would be appreciated for the following:
As booking forms come in please pray for those who are applying - that the numbers attending will be just right and for a wide range of church backgrounds to be represented.
- Please pray for protection for everyone surrounding this course - if the course is to be effective there will be spiritual warfare. Also the course is intended for people from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds - it would be good to pray especially for a sense of unity and opportunities to break down barriers and uncertainties.
There will be lots of travelling as well - please pray for safety.
- Stephen Mawditt and Jane Loades are the course hosts with the responsibility for sorting out speakers etc - please pray for them as they finish this.

Prayer for Hope 2008 - a date for your diary
Calling the mighty warriors to catch the sound of heaven to make God's wisdom and glory known. A regional prayer event for Saturday 3 February from 10am to 4pm - venue to be confirmed.
Hope 2008
Pray for Mark Tuma as he goes round talking to church leaders about Hope, that many will catch the vision early and want to work together through 2007, the year of prayer and preparation for Hope.
Reality
Plans are really under way now for Reality II next summer. Please pray for all the preparation that is going into this, that all planning arrangements to be guided by God and not their own agenda. The Reality team are currently meeting with youth workers and church leaders across the city sharing the vision and asking them to get involved, so pray that people will sign up to become delegates and start getting excited about next summer. Please pray too for all the fundraising that goes with this project. They are having another Christmas Ball on 16 December following the success of last year's ball to help raise money. And pray for Reality II to build excitement and momentum for Hope 2008
Pregnancy Crisis Norfolk
Please pray for their Youth Work, in particular for the Romance Academy that will be starting in the New Year. This programme invites 12 young people to abstain from sexual activity during the 15 weeks of the Academy, within a supportive environment to explore how issues of sexual activity affect their physical and emotional health. They would also value prayer as they look for two Christian youth workers to run the Academy and for the Youth Team headed up by Melissa Snell. See article on this website
Christians Against Poverty
Praise God for the King's Lynn Baptist Church membership agreeing to an April opening for a Christians Against Poverty centre! Praise Him for more giving, more support workers coming forward and an enlarged prayer team. Please pray for the unity of the Spirit as the church decides on putting forward a candidate for the key role of centre manager, who will be interviewed by CAP in January. Please continue to pray for protection of the team and their families as many appear to be coming under attack through their involvement in the project. Please pray also for the many people who are already coming forward who will be facing a desperate financial situation this Christmas.
CLC Bookshops
Could you please pray for CLC Bookshops; many of their centres are short-staffed and particularly at this busy time of the year it leaves 'the few' carrying a heavy burden. The purpose of CLC is "to make evangelical literature available to all nations so that people may come to faith and maturity in the Lord Jesus Christ" - pray that the Lord of the harvest will send more workers into the harvestfield to help with this valuable work.
Pray also that gifts bought from CLC will reach out to hearts and minds with the love of God and the true meaning of this Christmas celebration.
