Gorleston clock returns

GORLESTON CLOCK 10-202311th October 2023

Hello Gorleston, we’re back, it’s us, the clock faces from St Andrew's Church Tower!

We are so pleased to be back in place, what a traumatic and exciting year we have had. We know we shouldn’t say this, but we DO look rather splendid with our new shiny faces and hands. As for our mechanism, well 21st century or what?!? We can’t wait for the British Summer Time to end as we will automatically change the hour! We wonder what that will be like - a strange tickly feeling I should think

That will be nothing after what we have been through this year, abseiling up and down, carted off to a factory to be spruced up, sitting in the church memorial chapel where strange people kept coming and having their photo taken next to us, all saying “ooh isn’t it big” while we waited for the right weather to come for our ascent back into place. The photo shows the reflection of stained-glass window in the chapel

Well, that’s the end of our little saga, it’s been fun sharing with you all, hope you enjoyed it. We’ll just settle down now and keep silently watching over our lovely town of Gorleston
