The Sales Table and Coffee Shop are now open on Wednesdays (10.00am – 12 noon) and Saturdays (10.00am – 12 noon). Jane Freeman says, “How fortunate we are in having our splendid new South Transept Coffee Shop and facilities! It really is good to be behind the counter serving coffees etc. How different from the ‘bad old days’ of the urn and all the water-carrying involved – now a distant memory!” 

 

 

The church is delighted to have a new Choirmaster, John Stephens, and they would like to thank him for his work and to say that he is doing a magnificent job. John has arranged for the choir to sing choral evensong twice each month, with a rehearsal on the preceding Friday evening.  Members of the choir would also like to welcome two new members. The choir have also recently formed a link with Reedham Church choir and will join with them to sing at some festival events eg: Christmas and Easter. The choir is also available for hire at weddings. 

 

 

‘Awake thou wintry earth’, are the words from the Bach chorale, and we are now in the season when, like the words from this wonderful song, spring is in the air and we begin to have more hope and inspiration! The bulbs are sprouting in the gardens, the snowdrops are already in flower, how wonderful it is to see all this happening – let us all go forth into the future with hope in our hearts and feeling inspired and motivated to maintain the great church of St Nicholas, not only in the present but for the future.
