Social Evils in the UK

What do you think are the three things causing the most social evils in the UK? The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is conducting a project to identify the 'social evils' which exist in our society.

 

They invite respondents from all walks of life to nominate up to three evils on an on-line form. The JRF wants to start a national debate on the social evils of the 21st century UK. The rationale is based on the words of Joseph Rowntree when he formed the JRF in 1904. He said he wanted it to, "search out the under-lying causes of weakness or evil in the community, rather than remedying their more superficial manifestations."

 

Joseph Rowntree had his own views on the social evils of his time, but one hundred years later what are the biggest social problems in the UK society today? Alcohol, lack of proper parenting, the rise of celebrity stardom, drug abuse, gambling? These are just some of the issues already raised by Adventist contributors.
