Christian web and blog awards

The Seventh-day Adventist evangelistic website, LIFEdevelopment.info, was runner up in Friday night's Christian Web and Blog awards for the most successful Evangelistic Blog.

CHRISTIAN WEB AND BLOG AWARDS
In a nation-wide competition organised by Premier Christian Radio, nominations were accepted for categories ranging from Best Creative Christian Blog or Website through best Church Website to the Most Original Worship Blog and the popular People's Choice Award which was won by the Christian mental well-being website, mind and soul. The Best Church Website award, with a grand prize of £1000 was King's Church, Manchester with their website, MakingJesusFamous. The LIFEdevelopment site was joint runner up in the category for most successful Evangelistic Blog.

Miroslav Pujic, creator of the concept behind LIFEdevelopment.info, was pleased to note the quality of the contenders for the evangelism award. "I'm delighted for LIFEdevelopment.info to be associated with sites like the winners, Rejesus.co.uk, and joint runner up, Bethinking.org. They are excellent sites and each one, in a different way, is making Christianity accessible to those outside the church door."

"What a tremendous witness for the outstanding work which is still taking place in the LIFEdevelopment programme of our church," states Eglan Brooks, LIFEdevelopment coordinator for the Adventist Church in the UK and Ireland. "I am happy to see, once again, those outside of our church recognising the unique concept which has been developed in the UK." With this recognition Pastor Brooks is encouraging those not yet involved in the LIFEdevelopment programme in their local church that "now is the time to get involved before you are left behind." Together with Miroslav Pujic he will be running the next training course for churches interested in LIFEdevelopment this November. Email Pastor Brooks for more details.

Peter Kerridge, Chief Executive of Premier states that "over 21 million people a day are using the internet in the UK." In a speech given at the awards he stated, "Christians have a strong online presence and because of that, it is important to recognise and commend the outstanding work of Christians on the net." With a developing web presence, the Seventh-day Adventist Church is committed to be part of that initiative.

The inspiring architecture of Sir Christopher Wren made a fitting backdrop to the event, hosted at the St Stephen Walbrook church in London on Friday, 21 September. As home of the London Internet Church this is a building used to innovation. It is where the Samaritans first started in 1953 and today it is a church which actively involves itself in the life of the city and the web.
