Pentecost Weekend in Great Yarmouth

PENTECOST AT PARK BAPTIST

Mike Wood at Park 2Park Baptist Church, in Great Yarmouth, marked Pentecost Weekend with a visit from Mike and Lesley Wood. Mike recently retired from local pastoral ministry in London and now ministers to churches internationally as well as writing books to help others follow “The Jesus Way”. On Pentecost Saturday 16 leaders from both Park Baptist Church and other churches enjoyed his ministry as he reminded us of the characteristics of the early church that we should desire to emulate in our church life today – and then, at both services on Sunday, Mike spoke to the Park Congregation about the impact of that first Pentecost when God empowered the church to show the world His Way. Later Mike and Lesley prayed for a number of the congregation that they might receive healing and wholeness in preparation for their service to God

LOVE IS THE GREATEST

On Pentecost Saturday the Rafiki’s Crew puppeteers performed their latest musical production “Love is the Greatest” to an audience of around 70 people of all ages at Park Baptist Church. The fast moving musical with 26 puppets gives a quick overview of the Life of Jesus and the evening ended with a reminder from Rev Mike Wood of the importance of Jesus’ life for us today

PuppetsAt the end of July ten members of the Rafiki’s Crew will be visiting Kenya to teach local groups the skills of puppeteering, leaving with them a complete puppet stage set and equipment so that the same message can be proclaimed across Kenyan Townships where many live in poverty and need the encouragement that can come from helping one another. The Pentecost Saturday performance raised £350 towards the costs of this trip
