The Renewed World in Christ

Rev Tibbs Naidoo

‘Thy kingdom come … on earth as it is in heaven’ Matt 6:10

Dove rightHave you wondered where our world is ending too? Is it getting better or worse? Some people might be divided about the world’s future. Pessimistic Christians believe that the world would ultimately be destroyed, and God will create another world. They do not bother to transform the world and its communities. They also distance themselves from political reality and build dykes against social involvement. The Resurrection of Jesus to them is merely a spiritual reality of faith and nothing more.   But there are also those who are optimistic about the world’s future. The Resurrection of Jesus to them is more than spirituality. They do not separate the spiritual from socio/political experience, but see the historical Jesus’ death and resurrection as basis to do mission, by this I mean destroying the deadening vices and values that destroy society. Starting with self and then in our community.   Resurrection to them also means us to raise and be activists in making this world a better place for all who live in it. They take serious the Lord’s Prayer “Thy Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven”

Friends I hope that you would be optimistic about our world and country. Be God’s vehicle in transforming our deadening world of hatred, dishonesty, corruption, and war into a new world of peace, love and freedom. Without your committed action the new world will be a distant future. So let us rise together and bring down God’s Kingdom

Prayer Thought: Lord, help us to die to self and rise to new life in Christ, and grant us the passion to transform our world anew

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kindom come, Thy will be done; on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory. For ever and ever. Amen
