Have you surrendered your 'Isaac'?

surrenderChrist may ask us to offer up our very own Isaac. I was asked to do this this very day. Our Isaac can be anything we hold dear. God is a jealous God and will not have any other gods before Him. Sometimes, we are oblivious to the fact that we are doing this - holding someone or something in higher esteem than Him. I got a diamond ring once. God told me to sell it. I loved it. There was a long battle that went on for months until I said "yes" fully to getting rid of it. Today, my Isaac was a person. He has asked me to let go of them several times and I have. Only in my mind and heart I wasn't totally letting go, I was justifying my lack of total surrender both to myself and Him that partial surrender would suffice. It didn't, nor does it, ever

So, today I surrendered my Isaac. Your Isaac could be food, a car, holidays, a TV programme, a book - the Bible, a person. A lot are people. Many of us hold onto people. We need to let go and let God be God in our lives. Abraham surrendered Isaac knowing God would provide. Abraham trusted Him. We need to, too. I'm in a free flowing relationship again. Thank you Lord, Jesus
