Christmas hampers for lunch-club members
Hampers of Christmas treats have been distributed to sixty members of a lunch-club in Ormesby St Margaret
The lunch club, which is run by Light of Life Baptist Church, usually meets in The Chapel but has been closed since March, due to the coronavirus. However, the organisers wanted to send some seasonal good cheer to everyone and, thanks to a generous grant from the Norfolk Community Foundation’s ‘Connecting Older People Fund’, they were able to provide each person with a festive bag of seasonal treats and a beautiful pot plant
The recipients, the oldest of whom is 100 years old, all live in Ormesby or surrounding villages
All of the gifts were personally delivered by volunteers from the church and included an individually written Christmas card. Each bag contained a small Christmas cake, mug, crocheted coaster, nativity bauble, bookmark and a chocolate Santa
Everyone was delighted to receive their gifts and enjoyed a short, socially-distanced chat on their doorstep
