New windows for St Peter the Apostle RC Church, Gorleston
28th March 2021

Some of the scaffolding already up outside the church, and all at St Peter’s are excited that work is beginning on the tower! We are very grateful to Caroe Architecture Ltd for working on this conservation of their church
June Thorn said "It is great to be able to say that over the coming weeks, St Peter the Apostle will be receiving replacement windows to the tower, the baptistry, and the north and south transepts, along with some local repairs to tower brickwork"
This has been made possible by a very generous grant from Historic England and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. It is wonderful to have this opportunity to undertake this work which has been needed for some time
The works team will be using scaffold inside and outside the church and the church will remain closed for weekday masses but will be open for the celebration of mass on Sundays during the works period which will be going on until June
As the car park will be used for the contractors’ scaffolding and access, it will need to remain closed for the duration of the works
