MATTHEW PRICE 04-2021Reverend Matthew Price
Vicar, St Mary Magdalene Church, Gorleston

THE MAG NEWS 01-2022AIf you’ve walked past St Mary Magdalene Church recently, you might have noticed builders’ vans outside on a regular basis. With funding from Norfolk County Council’s Social Infrastructure Fund, we are making some changes to the church building so that it is more multi-functional, and therefore there is more space available to serve, and for use by, our wider community

THE MAG NEWS 01-2022BBy the time you read this, the work should have been completed (or very nearly at least!). We have introduced a permanent hospitality area at the back of the church, renovated the toilets (which haven’t had anything done to them since 1957!), including a new fully accessible toilet, and replaced the pews with lightweight stackable seating

All of this is a very practical outworking of our vision as a church to be “seeking the peace and prosperity” of our community. The changes have already meant we’ve been able to launch our new parent and toddler group, Magpies, and we now host a slimming world group on a Monday afternoon and evening. We hope these will be just the beginning of wider community use of the space!

Why not pop along and check out the changes?
