A Licence to Kill!?
18th January 2018
Donna Dodson reports
Rev Matthew Price was licensed by the Bishop of Thetford, Rt Rev Dr Alan Winton, as Curate in Charge at St Mary Magdalene Church in Gorleston in front of a congregation of over 180 people on Wednesday 17th January
It's official, and here's a picture of the cake and the bishop to prove it. Matthew Price is our new minister and everyone is very excited about what God is going to do next
The church was full for the occasion even with all the extra chairs we could muster and squeeze in. Bishop Alan talked about St Mary Magdalene Church being a little church that “punches above its weight” So it's not numbers that count - it's kilos! We are little David and the task of sharing the love God in our community is Goliath. Here's to knocking Goliath off his feet and seeing our community and church thrive and full of joy and hope
It was wonderful to have people from so many churches taking part, especially in the music group. Hopefully, a sign of increasing sharing and celebration between local churches in Gorleston. Many members of St Nicholas Bradwell came along to wish Matthew, Anna, and their children well in their new adventure. There were also an impressive number of people wearing dog collars present. All showing just how much Matthew is loved and respected
On behalf of St Mary Magdalene Church, an enormous "thank you" to everyone who came and made the service so special and please continue to pray for us and for Matthew
