Sunday 2nd November
Heavenly Father, all over the world voices will lift up Your Name this morning. The Name of Jesus will be on our lips in prayers, Bible readings and songs and hymns of praise and worship. There are many ways we can express our love for You
We can do this by loving one another as we meet together. We can do this through arts and crafts, writing poems, song lyrics, and prayers. We can look into Your Word to discover more about the depth of Your love for us, shown so graphically in the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Help us to seize every opportunity to show our love for You and to receive Your love for us
As we gather together pour out Your Spirit upon us to strengthen us for the days ahead. Even though Jesus has defeated death and eternal life awaits us, the enemy still tries to bring us down. Breathe Your breath into us today that we may sing powerfully in Spirit and Truth and thus terrify the enemy; as we submit to You, so he must flee
May every church feel Your presence today and every person be blessed by You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Thank You

Saturday 1st November
Heavenly Father, forgive me if my prayer is rather brief today. I know it doesn't matter, in fact Jesus cautions us about this: "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him". Sorry if I do babble!
And thank You that You know what I need before I ask! I need sleep Lord, as I was up a lot during the night. I pray for all those people who had to be up in the night, whatever the reason. I ask that You bless them, and me with good rest, as soon as it is possible
Thank You, Jesus. I come to You: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"

Friday 31st October
Heavenly Father, what great comfort we can find in Your Word! "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality"
While we can see our outward bodies wasting away, perishing, we know that there is a time coming when the perishable must be raised imperishable. "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal"
I was trying to explain to someone yesterday how I have help in my times of trouble, that it is not me alone who manages, but that Jesus helps me, strengthens and sustains me. I may be physically exhausted, but as each trial comes You are there to encourage me to go the extra mile. You pick me up again and again. You give me more than I deserve! "God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" What I give is nothing in comparison to what I gain! As a missionary once said: "He is no fool who gives that which he cannot keep in order to gain that which he cannot lose"
Thank You that Jesus, raised from the dead, is the confirmation that Your Word to us is the Truth: "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are 'Yes' in Christ. And so through Him the 'Amen' is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come"
This strength is not some trick, some con-job in my mind, it is real. Thank You Jesus for lifting me by Your Word again. There really is power in the Name of Jesus

Thursday 30th October
Heavenly Father, yesterday I prayed about things You said about Yourself. Today I am thinking about the seven "I AM" statements Jesus made about Himself. Lord Jesus You said: "I AM the Bread of Life." We can feed on You every day to receive the spiritual nourishment and strength we need for daily living
"I AM the Light of the world" We live in darkness, our souls unable to comprehend or see good and bad. With You we can see the difference; You guide us on the right path
"I AM the Door of the sheep." You lead us into a safe place so we are protected from the evil one. We can go in and out, we have the choice; You do not keep us captive. You are our refuge our sanctuary, and place of Salvation
"I AM the Good Shepherd." You guide and protect us, and lay down Your life for us
"I AM the Resurrection and the Life" You have authority over life and death. You were crucified, dead and buried, but You were raised, and You do the same for us. Your promise is that all who believe and trust in You will receive the gift of eternal life, even though we die
"I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." You are the pathway to Heaven; the only Way. You are the Truth upon which everything is built. You are the means of Life, sustaining everything by Your will. You are the source of everything good
"I AM the True Vine." Life flows through You. We are branches and must be, and must remain, connected to You. Without You we can do nothing
All of this is because You love us deeply. Help me to remember all You have done, all You do today and all You will do for us in the future. Thank You

Wednesday 29th October
Heavenly Father, the Life of Jesus was quite unique; there has been no one else like Him. You pointed out how special He was, how special He is. At His baptism Heaven opened, Your Spirit descended like a dove and Your voice from Heaven said: “This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I AM well pleased”
At the transfiguration, a voice from a cloud said: "This is My Son, whom I love; with Him I AM well pleased. Listen to Him!” And after Jesus prayed: “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your Name!” Then a voice came from Heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again”
Father, I have to believe this Man, Jesus, was Your Son. I have to believe and trust that everything I read in the Bible is the Truth. It is the Gospel Truth. It's either all true or none of it's true. People thinking that religion is a personal thing and that it is all OK as long as that person is sincere is nonsense, at least it is to me. Just as all roads do not lead to Rome, similarly, all religions do not lead to You, our Creator God
You said this of Yourself to Moses: "I AM the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before Me." And to Isaiah You said: "There is no God apart from Me, a righteous God and a Saviour; there is none but Me. Turn to Me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I AM God, and there is no other"
Jesus said, before He ascended into Heaven: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." All nations, all people
Lord, help us to preach the Gospel Truth, wherever we are: "For God so loved the world that he gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." The Way to Heaven is a One Way street. There is only One God and Yours is the only Voice that really matters

Trusting in the God who never fails
Tuesday 28th October
Heavenly Father, I know that You are pure, holy, untainted by sin. Everything You think and say is holy. Everything You are is holy, the very essence of Your being is holy. Even Your Name is holy! There is no one else like You. There never has been, is not now and never will be anyone like You
All of this is true about Jesus, because You and He are One and the same. Jesus said: "I and the Father are one.” The same is true as the Holy Spirit, we have One God in three persons: "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." And Jesus command: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"
Thank You that Your Kingdom has come, is coming and will come! Jesus said: "The time has come, the Kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Your Kingdom is established in our hearts. Jesus said: “The coming of the Kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the Kingdom of God is in your midst”
Thank You for giving us Your Spirit that we are enabled to do Your will here on earth, just as it is done in Heaven. And thank You for feeding us physically, and more importantly with the Bread of Life. Jesus declared, “I am the Bread of Life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty"
Thank You that as we forgive others we are cleansed of our sin. Jesus said; "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, Your Heavenly Father will also forgive you." Remind me, and help me to forgive others
There will be trials and temptations today, as the enemy never stops bating us, continuously sets traps, but You will not lead us into temptation but will deliver us from evil. Thank You that we are part of Your Kingdom. The power and the glory are Yours, today and forever

Monday 27th October
Heavenly Father, just as You are unseen, so much of what You do is unseen, invisible. Lord Jesus, You said of the Spirit: "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” We do not see You but we know the effect You have on our lives
When we are down, You lift us up. When we are weary, carrying heavy loads, You give us rest. When we are weak, You give us strength. When we are attacked by the enemy, You shield us. When we are tempted, You help us to resist. When we are thirsty for God, You give us Living Water. When we don't know what to say, You put the Words of the Gospel in our hearts. When we are lied to You tell us the Truth
When all seems lost, You give us hope. When things look dark, You shine Your Light. When we don't know what to do next, You show us the Way: "For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"
When we are troubled, You bring us peace. You said: "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." When we are spiritually hungry, You are the Bread of Life
Thank You for giving so much to us, even dying on the cross so that our sins are paid for, and we can have eternal life. You are our Mighty God, our Provider. As Paul testifies; "My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen"
And I too say: Amen
