Dove rightTogetherness

Isolation is something that most human beings tend to avoid. Most people like being with others. After all, we were made to be in companionship with others. As Christians, we know that the Lord created us to be in fellowship with one another. And one of His greatest ideas was the church. The church is a place for community. It’s in the context of this community that major events of our lives take place, such as infant dedications, baptisms, communion, marriages and funerals

It’s true that the Church is a place where we go to worship God, but we do it in the company of others (it should go without saying that we need also to have times of worship on our own). God called us to be in community. Some of the advantages of being together in community are that we can learn from one another and with one another, we can also encourage one another, in brief, we can minister to one another more effectively

During the short time I have been here in Great Yarmouth serving the congregation, I have already noticed the potential we have to minister to each other, simply by creating opportunities for people to be together. But this being together is more than that found in a club or a football team. I’m talking here about a togetherness in Jesus’ name, for He should be at the centre of all our activities

In our busy schedules, let us remember that we were created to be together as well as to share together. Let us create time and space for one another, allowing ourselves in this way to grow in our love for each another and in our love for God

Estarmos Juntos
