DEREK MILL WITH KATIEDerek Mill
Worship Leader, All Saints Church, Belton

Albert Einstein is quoted as saying, "There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." I am working on a song at the moment based on the idea that everything is a miracle. I have some lyrics written, quite a few other ideas for further lyrics yet to be finalised and a couple of tunes jotted down

The air I breathe is a miracle
The water I drink is a miracle
The food I eat is a miracle
Everything on earth is a miracle!

I'm a walking talking, miracle,
How my body was formed is mystical
But the evidence is empirical,
Everyone on earth is a miracle
A walking talking miracle

The body, the head, arms, legs, all gradually appearing and all in the right place. Inside the body the various organs develop, and all in the right place. We are spectacular!! A wondrously created being! And God is fully involved. The Bible tells us as much. "You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well"

The NHS has provided a website where we can follow the development of our bodies:

Dove rightThis miracle of creation is part of a much larger creation, the universe. Whether it took six days or millions of years there is so much in creation that cries “Creator!” The stars in the heavens, the sun, the moon, the earth, all perfectly balanced; surely more than an accident. The variety of creation in our world is miraculous. Humans, animals, birds, fish, all taking part in the act of procreation. Even flowers, trees, vegetables, fruit are miraculous. Put flour, yeast and water together to make bread; a miracle

Because we live in a broken world, things go wrong; we go wrong! Sickness, illness, disease; all evidence that things go wrong. And we get things wrong, mistakes, deliberate and accidental. God wants to put things right. The first stage is to repair our relationship with Him, which is why Jesus came, so we can be reconciled; a miracle. The next stage is to strengthen us by filling us with His Spirit, so we may have life in all fullness; another miracle. And finally, take us home to Heaven, to live with Him there forever; yet another miracle. Don’t miss it!
