Horning church welcomes pets for service

St Benedict's Church in Horning welcomed a menagerie of animals to their pet service last Sunday

The pet service attracted a range of animals and their loving owners to St Benedict's Church in Horning, including not only dogs, but also rats and a duck!

The service introduced attendees to the life of St Francis of Assisi, and the story of how he tamed a wolf by showing kindness was shared. This was accompanied by prayer that our world would follow St Francis's example and show care to animals

The Rector of the church, Rev Ben Bradshaw also invited those present to bring their animals forward for a prayer of blessing. Rev Ben commented: "It was a joyful and wonderful occasion where we gave thanks for God's creation and also prayed for his blessing on our pets who enrich our lives a great deal"
