As children we have to learn some life rules for our own safety. The Green Cross Code was published to help us in traffic. Touching a hot cooker or iron can prove very painful. The parental “no!” can be very helpful at times. So it is with the maturing human whose natural instinct is to do things ‘my way’ only to find out later that it didn't work
Almighty God set in motion a set of rules for our safe living on planet earth and they come to us down thousands of years known as the Ten Commandments. Some are instructions and some are warnings but they are designed to keep us safe and confident in this earth realm that all might go well with us. Sadly pride, lust, and a rebellious heart often prove counter to the standard God set us. It's always easier to follow the flow of current thinking in the media when we are encouraged to do what seems right in our own eyes. The bar of our morals is set very low
God said that His kingdom would not be shaken by current events and sad reports of world wars and floods. His kingdom rule would rule over all the kingdoms of this earth and that Jesus Christ would sit on the throne for ever
This Easter season Christians celebrate Jesus's victory over death for He arose from the grave and cancelled the power of death and hades in His bruised and scarred body. For 40 days Jesus was seen around Jerusalem in His resurrected body showing his disciples how they should present His story of the good news
After this He ascended into heaven and 10 days later at Pentecost his Father released his precious Holy Spirit to help and empower those who would follow. He is the friend who walks beside each of us who believe. He empowers, comforts and teaches teaches us the ways of the coming kingdom. On that day of the first Pentecost so great was the power of God's divine love that 3000 people heard the message and believed
Is God knocking on the door of your life today? He says "Come unto me you who are weary and thirsty and I will give you rest for your souls and the water of life so that you will never thirst again”
I answered that invitation 37 years ago and have not looked back
Have a great day
