She Needs author leading Norfolk churches event
Nay Dawson, author of the recent book She Needs, will consider the question of how churches can make sure they are places where both men and women can flourish
Nay Dawson, author of the recent book, She Needs, will lead a conversation at the next meeting of the Norfolk Gospel Partnership on May 13 at Hillcrest Chapel, Weston Wood Road, Norwich NR7 0JY, beginning at 10am and concluding with lunch at 1pm. Everyone is welcome
The morning will consider the question of how churches, whatever their theological position on the role of women in leadership, can make sure they are places where both men and women can flourish. The aim is to help attendees to think about how and why women could be encouraged to use their valuable skills to enrich the whole church
Nay said, “I am looking forward to joining church leaders from across Norfolk. Paul describes the church as one body, with many parts. Each part is needed and each part called to work together to build up the church. But what if there are some who feel unsure about using the gifs that God has given them? What if there are some that lack courage in using these gifts?
“Through my research - and in writing my book - I have encountered some of the reasons why women in particular have felt lacking in courage or uncertain. My prayer is that our churches could be places where everyone's gifts are used for the good of the entire body”
Andy Rees, pastor of CityGates Church, Norwich and Chair of the Norfolk Gospel Partnership said, “I think Nay’s work is really important and I am looking forward to being with others from across our county as we think through this significant issue for the church together. I would encourage church leaders to join us and be part of the conversation! I want the church I serve to be a place where the gifts of all are identified, encouraged and harnessed”
