The God of the vast and amazing universe has made Himself known to us!

A few months ago, a news item caught my interest: apparently some ancient Pompeii scrolls are being analysed by scientists using the latest scanning technology (and Artificial Intelligence) so as to preserve and not damage the documents in any way.  It once again caused me to reflect: some of the recent developments in science and technology (and medicine too, for example) – are truly mind-blowing.  I’m in awe of it all really

And similarly, I’m really in awe of the God behind it all; and this vast (and amazing) universe.  Apparently there are not just billions of stars but billions of galaxies of stars: the distance and scale is mind-blowing.. Wow!

dove leftAnd yet God, the creator of all this, has made Himself known, and is not distant and impersonal!

Christians believe God has revealed Himself; as a personal God, wanting relationship with us His creatures:
The Bible has countless examples of this.  In the Old Testament Moses had a strange encounter at a burning bush, where God revealed himself with the following words: “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob…”
Ultimately He has made Himself known to us in Jesus - which we celebrate at Christmas (His coming as a baby) and Easter (His death for our sins and His resurrection)

Christians speak of the difference He makes as He changes us from the inside out..

It seems to me there’s so much to cause us to worship.  A God who created and sustains the universe – who gifts scientists with the intellectual rigour to discover some of all this.. and utilise it for good..    And this same God who makes Himself known and cares about the day to day of our lives

Can I encourage you to explore worship of this God for yourself - or maybe to rekindle something of this, if you have fallen out of the habit:  Why not go along to a church and join with others to worship this amazing God; reconnect; and find out more about the difference He can make in your life

God bless
