Making a difference - One life do it

I watched Equaliser 3 followed by a Live Aid documentary which focused on Bob Geldorf and Bono. An individual fighting for justice for the oppressed and overcoming the oppressors and the other, striving to change the immediate and longer term circumstances of the starving. Individuals making a difference

Where are we able to make a difference? Family, friends, community, country, world?

Mandela (27 years in prison) and Mother Teresa  (Calcutta) made the world sit up. He brought reconciliation to correct a legacy of injustice, while she brought loving care to those with nothing

dove leftWe all have opportunities in our own sphere.  Not just what you do but the way that you do it. Simple acts of kindness. When we relate to children, they bring us joy but it is for the adults to take the initiative showing interest love, care, example and guidance with a forgiving nature. Extrapolate this to the workplace and community projects

Demonstrate interest in individuals and give  time and attention to the needs of those around us. I have friends who litter pick while walking the prom. But I also have distaste for those who carelessly discard their litter – what example is that to children?

We see poverty and debt in our own country and there are those who work tirelessly in food banks, provision of meals and domestic necessities, all of which depend on charitable giving by individuals and businesses

Sadly we see horrors brought about by individuals. The Epstein scandals, financial rip offs and scams and dictators wreaking havoc on a global scale with war crimes and destruction. Here we need authorities to intervene, but where are they and how earnest are they in their efforts. We heard a lot about sanctions but how is it that more sanctions are being discussed – why were they selective if not for financial the self interest in those sanctioning. I should not stray into politics but simply ask of the politicians that they make a difference for the general good of the country, and other countries avoiding prejudices which verge on or are extreme

2000+yrs ago Jesus came to this world to show us the way to make a difference – he demonstrated truth and love, grace and mercy, example and self-sacrifice striving for peace and justice

Indwelling His followers He is still able to make a difference today
