Aylsham church’s Christmas tree fest and concert
Aylsham Parish Church will be celebrating the start of Advent with a spectacular Christmas Tree Festival in the church, and a charity concert by Norwich City Concert Band, with concert tickets now available.
The Christmas Tree Festival will run from the last Friday in November to the following Tuesday, and will support over fifty local, national and international charities. Refreshments will be available throughout the festival.
The festival will open at 10am on Friday 28 November, with the lights being switched on at 4pm. Mulled wine and mince pies will be served in the church, and a candy floss stall will be located outside.
The following morning, Saturday, there will be a coffee morning from 10am to 12 noon with charity stalls and folk music. Soup and bread lunches will be served from 12 noon to 2pm, and visiting choirs will be performing during the afternoon.
The Norwich City Concert Band will be performing a concert in the church from 7pm, with all proceeds being shared by the tree festival charities. Tickets are available from Postles Electrical in Aylsham and are £10 per head (under 18’s £5).
Soup Lunches and other refreshments will be served from 12.30pm on Sunday 30 November with the Advent Festival Service from 4pm to 5pm – a beautiful service of lights and music. The festival will close at 7pm.
The festival continues on the Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 7pm each day, with refreshments served from 10am to 12noon. On Tuesday 2 December the raffle will be drawn between 5pm and 6pm, when drinks will be served.
Debbie Graver, chair of the events team at Aylsham Church, said, “We are really grateful for numerous individuals and businesses from the local community who provide sponsorship and raffle prizes to cover our costs. Last year we raised £6000 and we are hoping to increase this amount this year.”
