Blessing the pets at Horning Church

Blessing the pets at Horning Church
An assortment of animals, together with their human owners, gathered at St Benedict's church in Horning for the Benefice of St Benedict Annual Pet Service
Around fifty people in attended the service, many of whom brought their pets, and many of whom were not regular church goers. The guest list included a pet rat and some African land snails as well as lots of dogs!
Fr Ben Bradshaw, Rector of the Benefice of St Benedict, which includes Ashmanhaugh, Barton Turf, Beeston St Lawrence, Horning, Irstead, and Neatishead, said, “During the service we gave thanks to God for our pets, who are such an important part of our lives. We also committed ourselves to helping to sustain and care for our world. A retiring collection was taken to help raise money for our Sunday school where we have exciting plans to hold a summer event which will include the attendance of some miniature donkeys!”
