Free Art of Storytelling workshop in Norwich
Time is running out to book a place at a free content creation workshop in Norwich, run by the team behind the Network Norfolk website, as part of the national Indie News Week in mid June.
Called the Art of Storytelling, the free workshop will help to enable and empower people to tell their own or church and organisation stories.
Run by Network Norfolk publisher Keith Morris and senior content editor Helen Baldry, the workshop will help participants to formulate and tell stories about their personal faith journey, family history, or the achievements of their church, charity or other groups for example.
Keith said: “The whole purpose of the Network Norfolk website is to try to tell as many of the great stories of faith from the Christian community across Norwich and Norfolk as we can. Everyone has a story to tell, whether about their faith, family, church or charity.
“We will show people how to create a compelling tale and give them some tools and tips on creating them in print, online or on social media.
“It aims to be a very practical session, helping people to work through their own ideas and stories and starting to write them down – so please come with some thoughts which we can help you to formulate and take to the next stage. We also have online and print channels which we can publish your stories on to help them to gain a wider audience.”
The free workshop, which is being supported by YMCA Norfolk, is being held at its Community Hub on Aylsham Road in Norwich on Wednesday June 17, from 10am until 12 noon.
Click here to register for the workshop by Friday June 5 and tell us what sort of stories you want us to help you to tell.
Indie News Week runs from June 15 to 19, and is backed by the Public Interest News Foundation, which is the UK’s first and only charity working to regenerate local news. Scores of events will be held across the country.
